2 Lashkar Terrorists Trapped by Indian Army in J&K, Captured on Camera Before Encounter
A major counter-terrorism operation was launched by the Indian Army and security forces in the Shopian district of Jammu & Kashmir after intelligence inputs indicated the presence of two armed terrorists linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit.
According to officials, the terrorists were surrounded in a dense orchard during a coordinated search operation. Before the encounter began, visuals captured on camera showed the two suspected terrorists moving through the orchard while carrying weapons.
The terrorists have been identified as Zakir Ganie and Latif Bhatt, both believed to be associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The footage has since surfaced online, showing their movements moments before security forces engaged them.
The operation was launched jointly by the Indian Army, the Jammu & Kashmir Police, and other security agencies. The area was immediately cordoned off to prevent the terrorists from escaping, and an exchange of fire followed after the terrorists allegedly opened fire on the security personnel.
Officials said the encounter was underway, and reinforcements were rushed to the area to ensure the operation was carried out safely. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and further details are expected once the operation concludes.
The operation is part of the ongoing efforts by Indian security forces to eliminate terrorist networks and maintain peace and security in Jammu & Kashmir.
