Air India Crash Inferno Reached 1000°C, Leaving No Chance of Survival: Intensity Claimed Animals Nearby Too
Ahmedabad, June 13 : The devastating Air India crash near Ahmedabad, which claimed the lives of 241 people, unleashed an intense blaze that soared to temperatures nearing 1,000 degrees Celsius, making survival nearly impossible for anyone on board or nearby. The extreme heat also tragically affected birds and stray animals in the surrounding area.
Rescue personnel from the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF), speaking to PTI, described the horrifying scene with charred remains of birds and dogs scattered around the crash site. This highlighted the sheer magnitude of the fire caused by the explosion.
Fire department officials confirmed that the rapid escalation of temperature was fueled by the 1.25 lakh litres of aviation fuel onboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Once the aircraft exploded shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad en route to London, the fireball that followed was catastrophic.
“The aircraft was loaded with 1.25 lakh litres of fuel, which caught fire immediately. It was impossible to save anyone,” Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated during a briefing to the media, reflecting the tragic intensity of the incident.
This disaster is now being recognized as one of the most severe aviation tragedies in recent Indian history—not just due to the loss of human life, but also because of the powerful explosion that affected all living beings in proximity.
