Cyber Fraud Case: IndusInd Bank Deputy Branch Manager Arrested by Siliguri Police Under Operation Cyber Prahaar

Siliguri: In a major development in a cyber-fraud investigation, Siliguri Police have arrested a 36-year-old Deputy Branch Manager of IndusInd Bank in connection with a suspected fraudulent financial transaction.

According to police sources, a team from Pradhan Nagar Police Station under the Siliguri Police Commissionerate carried out the arrest as part of Operation Cyber Prahaar, acting on information about a suspected cyber-fraud transaction.

The arrested person has been identified as Anirban Sikdar (36), Deputy Branch Manager of IndusInd Bank's Golden Plaza branch on Burdwan Road, Siliguri. He was previously posted at the bank's Sevoke Road branch.

During the investigation, police found that ₹91,21,808 (over ₹91 lakh), suspected to be linked to the cyber-fraud transaction, had been credited to an IndusInd Bank account belonging to Manisha Mandal, who had already been arrested in connection with the case.

Further investigation is underway to establish the alleged role of the arrested bank official and trace the financial transactions linked to the case.
