Enforcement Branch Cracks Down on Illegal LPG Refilling Operation

The Enforcement Branch of the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, with assistance from Technocity Police Station, conducted a raid at Baligori on August 8, 2026, acting on credible information regarding an illegal LPG refilling operation.

During the raid, police detected LPG being illegally transferred from domestic and commercial cylinders into auto-rickshaws for profit at a residential premises. The activity was allegedly being carried out without following the prescribed safety standards, posing a potential risk to public safety.

Police seized a total of 22 LPG cylinders, including 15 commercial and 7 domestic cylinders, along with one weighing machine and one gas-cutting motor. The items were seized following due legal procedure.

A case is being initiated under the relevant provisions of law, and further investigation is currently underway.
