Phulpati Procession Showcases the Devotion and Strength of the Gorkha Community

Phulpati is an important tradition in Nepali Hindu culture, symbolising the power of Goddess Durga, prosperity, and auspicious beginnings. On this special occasion, devotees welcome Phulpati into their homes and offer prayers to the nine forms of Goddess Durga.

In Siliguri, the grand Phulpati procession organised by the Gorkha community on Maha Saptami during the Durga Puja festivities, also celebrated as **Dashain (Dasain)**, reflects the community’s deep-rooted faith, cultural heritage, and spirit of unity.

The procession showcases the unique blend of devotion, strength, and traditional customs, while presenting a beautiful example of Siliguri’s rich cultural diversity, communal harmony, and brotherhood.
