Russian Drone Strike on Dnipro Railway Station Kills 13, Injures at Least 13 in Ukraine

Dnipro/Ukraine, October 29 : A Russian drone strike on Dnipro Railway Station in central Ukraine killed at least 13 people and injured at least 13 others on Thursday, according to Ukrainian authorities. The attack struck a crowded railway platform where a commuter train and a scheduled passenger train were stationed.

Ukraine's state railway operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, reported that a jet-powered drone hit the platform where Train No. 866, operating between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia, was standing. Despite an earlier warning of heightened danger, passengers remained on the platform when the strike occurred. Emergency responders, medical teams and law enforcement personnel were deployed to the scene.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, expressed condolences to the victims' families and urged stronger international sanctions against Russia. He called on the United States, European Union and G7 nations to intensify pressure on Moscow, arguing that sanctions should not be relaxed while the war continues.

Regional authorities subsequently reported that four injured people were in critical condition, including an 11-year-old boy. The attack has renewed concerns over the safety of civilian railway infrastructure amid the continuing Russia–Ukraine conflict.
