Soreng Police Arrest Three, Seize Blue Capsules in Anti-Drug Operation

Soreng, Dec 3 : In a coordinated anti-drug operation, the Soreng District Police apprehended three individuals and seized suspected contraband substances during an evening raid in Daramdin on December 2.

The operation, led by Sombaria Police Station, resulted in the arrest of Kismat Subba (28) of Daramdin, who was found in possession of 55 blue-coloured capsules, ₹300 in cash, and a small piece of cloth. The seizure was made following a body search conducted in the presence of the BDO, Daramdin, and local witnesses. Police confirmed that Kismat Subba, already known as a habitual peddler under surveillance, has been booked under relevant sections of the Sikkim Anti-Drugs Act, 2006.

During the same operation, police also detained two associates—Saneem Subba (28) of Lunchok and Satyam Subba (26) of Daramdin—for their involvement in the consumption and illegal handling of contraband substances. Both confessed to substance use and were taken to Sombaria PHC for medical examination. Tests confirmed drug use by Satyam Subba through a Multiple Drug Testing Kit (MDTK). Both individuals are being referred to a rehabilitation centre for counselling and de-addiction.

The Soreng District Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a drug-free district and urged community members to support ongoing efforts against narcotics abuse.
