500-year-old murti recovered from Bay of Bengal by fishermen
A 500-year-old idol has been found in the Bay of Bengal after it became entangled in the fishing net of Puducherry fishermen.
Investigators are examining the possibility that the idol may have fallen while being smuggled to Sri Lanka or was thrown by smugglers to avoid detection. Investigation is underway to find how the idol ended up in the sea.
