Actor Imran Khan Apologises for Joining Mumbai SIR Protest After Bombay High Court's Reprimand

Actor Imran Khan has tendered an unconditional apology for participating in a protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Mumbai, following strong observations by the Bombay High Court.

The court reportedly questioned his participation, observing that as an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholder, he does not have voting rights in India and is therefore not directly affected by the SIR exercise. The court also remarked that he had no right to criticise the country.

Meanwhile, the proceedings related to the 'Leave India Notice' issued against the actor have been stayed until December 7, providing him temporary relief.
