Bagdogra Police Take Swift Action in Alleged Wrongful Confinement Case

Bagdogra Police Station under the Siliguri Police Commissionerate acted swiftly on a written complaint filed by Sri Fulchand Toppo, who alleged that his brother, Suben Toppo, along with three other villagers, had travelled to Haryana for work through an agent, Upen Barman, a resident of Siavita, Bagdogra.

According to the complaint, after returning to Malda, the four workers reportedly became involved in a dispute over their pending wages and were allegedly wrongfully confined by another agent.

Acting promptly on the complaint, a team from Bagdogra Police arrested the named accused, Upen Barman, and proceeded to Kaliachak in Malda. During a nighttime operation, the police team successfully rescued the four individuals and brought them to safety.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
