Bengaluru Delivery Agent Arrested After Woman Alleges He Forced Entry Into Her Home and Exposed Himself

Bengaluru, July 11: A delivery agent was arrested in Bengaluru after a woman accused him of forcing his way into her apartment and exposing himself during a package delivery. This incident sparked widespread anger on social media and led to quick action from the police.

The woman reported that the delivery executive came to her apartment to deliver a parcel. He asked if he could use her washroom, but she repeatedly said no. She explained that she did not allow strangers in her home and suggested he ask male neighbors for help if it was an emergency.

Despite her refusals, she claimed that the delivery agent took off his shoes and entered her flat without her permission.

She also alleged that after using the washroom, the man exposed himself before leaving. This left her feeling scared, violated, and unsafe in her own home. In her social media post, she emphasized that a woman's refusal should always be respected and that no one has the right to invade her privacy or enter her home against her will.

After noticing the viral post, Bengaluru Police reached out to the woman. They confirmed the allegations and filed a case based on her formal complaint.

The suspect, identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat, was arrested. Police charged him under Sections 75, 79, and 329(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An investigation is ongoing.

In response to the incident, Flipkart issued a statement expressing concern and announced that the delivery partner's services had been terminated immediately.

The company stated that customer safety is its top priority and assured full cooperation with the investigation. They also mentioned that an FIR has been filed and confirmed that all delivery staff undergo background checks and mandatory training before being hired.

While calling such incidents extremely rare, Flipkart acknowledged that even one case of this kind is unacceptable. They stated they are reviewing their safety protocols to see if more measures can be implemented.
