BJP Booth-Level Worker Allegedly Shot Dead in West Bengal’s Birbhum
A 46-year-old BJP booth-level worker, identified as Chandan Bhalla, was allegedly shot dead in West Bengal’s Birbhum district on Sunday evening, police said.
Birbhum SP Vidit Raj Bhundesh said the man appeared to have suffered a gunshot injury and died. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination, according to PTI.
Family members said Bhalla received a phone call from an unidentified person before leaving his home. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death and are working to identify and trace those responsible.
