CBSE Class 10 and 12 Results 2025: Key Guidelines and Passing Criteria Explained
Over 39 lakh students appeared for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board examinations conducted from February 15 to April 2, 2025. With result day nearing, students and parents alike are eagerly awaiting official announcements.
As per CBSE regulations, the minimum passing mark is 33% in each subject. This includes both theory and internal assessments or practicals, wherever applicable. For subjects that involve practical components, students must pass both the theory and practical sections independently.
In cases where a student falls short in one or two subjects, CBSE allows them to appear for compartment examinations, offering a second chance to qualify.
Although the official result date is yet to be declared, based on past trends, the CBSE results are expected by the third week of May, with a possibility of an earlier release in the second week. Once released, results will be available on the official websites — cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in — and can also be accessed via DigiLocker and the UMANG app. Students are advised to keep their roll number, school number, and admit card ID ready for easy access.
The CBSE has warned students and the public to avoid spreading or trusting false result dates or fabricated circulars. All official information will be disseminated only through verified sources.
This year saw a massive turnout — nearly 21 lakh students for Class 10 and about 18 lakh for Class 12 — across thousands of centres nationwide. The board ensured the examinations were conducted under strict protocols, maintaining fairness and academic integrity throughout.
