DRI Cracks Down on Illegal Cannabis Trade, 13 Arrested
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) carried out eight major operations across the country, leading to the seizure of approximately 740 kg of cannabis and charas, including high-grade hydroponic cannabis.
The operations resulted in the arrest of 13 persons under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The seizures included:
709.6 kg of cannabis (Ganja)
24.5 kg of high-grade hydroponic cannabis
5 kg of charas
The DRI said the operations are part of its continued efforts to curb the illegal trafficking and distribution of narcotic substances across the country.
