DRI Conducts Six Pan-India Operations Against Illegal Wildlife Trade; 13 Arrested
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted six coordinated operations across India as part of a major crackdown on illegal wildlife trafficking, resulting in the arrest of 13 persons.
During the operations, DRI officials seized two leopard pelts, 180 live Indian star tortoises, 12 live tokay geckos, approximately 24 kg of pangolin scales, and around 500 grams of tiger bones.
The seizures highlight the continued efforts by enforcement agencies to dismantle networks involved in the illegal trafficking and trade of protected wildlife and their body parts.
