Drug Bust Near Bhanu Turning : Pakyong Police Nab Two, Seize 186 Suspected Capsules

Pakyong , March 18 : In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Pakyong Police intercepted two vehicles near Bhanu Turning on March 16, acting on specific intelligence inputs.

During a thorough search operation, police recovered 186 capsules suspected to be contraband substances. Two individuals, identified as Esamuddin and 42-year-old PV Chettri, were taken into custody at the scene. Both vehicles involved in the case have been seized, and a formal case has been registered.

Police sources revealed that PV Chettri has a previous record linked to a similar offence registered at Rangpo Police Station, raising concerns about repeat involvement in illicit activities.

Officials stated that the swift action reflects the department’s ongoing efforts to crack down on the drug network operating in the region. Investigations are currently underway to trace the source and intended distribution of the seized capsules.
