Fresh Tensions Surface Within TMC as Kalyan Banerjee Targets Abhishek Banerjee

Kolkata , June 11 : Fresh signs of internal discord have emerged within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) after senior leader Kalyan Banerjee publicly criticised party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Known to be a staunch supporter of Mamata Banerjee, Kalyan Banerjee said he remains loyal to "Didi" but strongly objected to what he termed Abhishek Banerjee's "arrogance."

"I am still with Didi, but I will not tolerate Abhishek Banerjee's arrogance. I have withdrawn from all cases related to him," he reportedly stated.

The remarks come amid reports of growing dissatisfaction within the party and the exit of several MPs, fuelling speculation over internal divisions in the ruling party.

Kalyan Banerjee also made it clear that his political future would depend on Mamata Banerjee's decisions.

"Let Didi decide what she wants to do. So far, I am with her. If Didi chooses to go with Abhishek, then I will decide my own course," he said.
