Fulbari Siliguri Illegal Toll Plaza Stops Functioning , Drivers Express Satisfaction

Siliguri , May 7 : The allegedly illegal toll plaza operating at Fulbari in Siliguri has reportedly shut down its activities since the evening of May 4, when the election results were declared.

According to allegations, the toll plaza had been functioning during the TMC government’s tenure and was allegedly collecting amounts ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 800 from different vehicles without proper authorization.

Speaking to the media, drivers and owners of transport vehicles — from small commercial carriers to large trucks — expressed satisfaction over the development. Many of them thanked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said they are hopeful for major changes in the transport sector.
