Heavy Vehicle Movement on NH-10 Between 27th Mile and Teesta Bazaar to Remain Suspended for Three Days
Siliguri, August 12: The Highway Administrator of NH-10 has announced the suspension of heavy goods vehicle movement on a crucial stretch of the highway due to safety concerns. The affected section, between Km 20.0 (27th Mile) and Km 27.0 (Teesta Bazaar), has been deemed unsafe for heavy traffic following the deteriorating road condition.
According to the order issued under the Control of National Highway (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002, the restriction will be in effect from 1:00 PM on August 12, 2025, until 6:00 PM on August 15, 2025.
Officials stated that the move aims to ensure the safety of motorists and prevent further damage to the already fragile stretch of NH-10, which serves as a vital link between Sevoke and Rangpo. The District Administration has been requested to make necessary traffic arrangements to ensure smooth movement for other vehicles during the restriction period.
