The 2026 ICC Under-19 Men’s World Cup concludes today as India are crowned as the U19 World champions for the sixth time at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe.
TVS Report, 6 Feb : India’s Under-19 cricket team lifted the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 title with a commanding victory over England in the final held at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe. Powered by a breathtaking innings from young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, India piled up a massive 411 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs, the highest team total ever recorded in an Under-19 World Cup final.
Sooryavanshi, just 14 years old, etched his name into the record books with a scintillating knock of 175 runs off just 80 balls. His innings included 15 fours and 15 sixes, the most sixes hit by a player in a single edition of the tournament, and also stood as the highest individual score in an Under-19 World Cup final. His explosive batting saw him reach his half-century in only 32 balls and bring up his century in 55 deliveries, setting the tone for India’s dominant performance.
India’s captain Ayush Mhatre played a vital supporting role with a solid half-century, while Kanishk Chouhan added quick runs towards the end to push the total beyond the 400-run mark.
Defending the huge score, the Indian bowlers put in a disciplined effort to restrict England Under-19 to 311 runs, sealing a convincing 100-run victory. The win marked India’s sixth Under-19 World Cup title, further underlining the country’s dominance in age-group cricket.
The triumph not only highlights the depth of young cricketing talent in India but also signals the rise of a new generation of players ready to make their mark on the international stage.
