Residents Rally Over Landslide Threat in Jawley Gaon–Rimbick
Residents of Jawley Gaon–Rimbick in Darjeeling held a peaceful rally on September 21, marching towards the Ramman Hydel Project office and submitting a memorandum outlining their concerns over a major landslide reportedly moving towards residential areas.
According to the residents, the situation is becoming increasingly dangerous, with the landslide posing a serious threat to nearby homes and potentially endangering Notre Dame Academy (NDA), where around 500 or more students are reportedly studying.
The residents have urged the authorities to take immediate steps to address the situation and called upon both the state and central governments to intervene and ensure the safety of people living in the affected area.
