Seven-Year-Old Boy Dies After Alleged Beating by Mother in Maharashtra’s Palghar

Maharashtra, Sep 29 : A tragic case of domestic violence emerged from Dhanasar village in Palghar district, where a seven-year-old boy died after allegedly being beaten by his mother.

According to police, the incident occurred when the child requested chicken for a meal, which reportedly angered his mother. In a fit of rage, she is said to have assaulted him with a rolling pin (belan) commonly used for making rotis.

The boy sustained serious injuries to his head and body. However, despite the severity of his condition, the mother allegedly failed to take him to a hospital. The child later succumbed to his injuries at home without receiving medical care.

Suspicious about the boy’s condition, neighbours alerted the police. Authorities reached the spot, took the mother into custody, and seized the rolling pin believed to have been used in the assault.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
