Sikkim Rapper UNB Booked in Arunachal Over Alleged Explicit Content

Itanagar, October 2: Sikkim-based rapper Ugen Namgyal Bhutia, popularly known as UNB, is reportedly facing an FIR in Arunachal Pradesh over allegations of circulating sexually explicit, derogatory and abusive content targeting a woman through music and social media.

The FIR was registered at Itanagar Police Station on September 29 following a complaint by the wife of Arunachal-based rapper Donkam (Tana Kamsang). The complaint names UNB and KASUO GANG Entertainment, alleging that objectionable lyrics and digital content were published and circulated online.

The case has been registered under Sections 79, 75(1)(iv) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 67A of the Information Technology Act. The complainant has also requested an investigation into alleged fake social media accounts targeting her.

The development follows the September 21 assault on UNB and his manager Deep Dhar in Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Dibang Valley, an incident that prompted police investigations and intervention by the Chief Ministers of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

The allegations in the latest FIR remain subject to investigation.
