Two Persons Arrested with Contraband Cough Syrup

Acting on specific source information, a team of NJP Police Station conducted a successful operation on 05.07.2026 near Amaidighi Nimna Buniya School on NH-31D, under the jurisdiction of NJP Police Station, and apprehended two persons, namely (i) Sujit @ Sanjay Paul (29 years) and (ii) Rajub Laskar (25 years). During the search, 79 bottles (100 ml each) of contraband cough syrup were recovered and seized from their possession, along with a Tata Nano vehicle, two mobile phones, and ₹9,750 in cash.

A case has been registered at NJP Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. All legal procedures were carried out in strict compliance with the provisions of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway.
