The Kolkata Police on Monday lathicharged Indian Secular Front (ISF) workers protesting against the newly passed Waqf Amendment Act at the Basanti Highway, Bhangar in South 24 Parganas.
As per reports, the protesters were planning to block roads in Kolkata. The protesters allegedly pelted stones at police, set two-wheelers on fire and vandalised a police vehicle.
