Wife Surrenders in Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case; Four Arrested, One Still at Large
In a major breakthrough in the sensational murder case of Indore-based Raja Raghuvanshi, who was killed during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, the Meghalaya Police confirmed on Monday the arrest of his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi. Authorities allege she orchestrated the murder by hiring contract killers.
Sonam was located in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and surrendered late Sunday night at Nandganj police station under mounting pressure from ongoing investigations. Her surrender brings the total number of arrests in the case to four, while one accused remains absconding.
Meghalaya Inspector General of Police Dalton P. Marak said Sonam will be brought back to Meghalaya to face legal proceedings.
Uttar Pradesh’s Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Amitabh Yash, stated that Sonam was found at Kashi Dhaba along the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway. She was taken to Sadar Hospital for preliminary medical checks and is currently housed at the One Stop Centre in the district.
Meghalaya Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang confirmed that the investigation remains active. The arrested individuals are being thoroughly interrogated to uncover further details and connections in the case.
