Raichur (Karnataka) : In an extraordinary display of generosity, a woman living by begging has donated ₹1.80 lakh — savings she had accumulated over several years — towards the construction of the Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Biyanegera, Raichur taluk.

Rangamma, who settled in the village around 25 years ago, survived by seeking alms. During a recent effort by villagers to clean the modest shed where she stayed, they uncovered her carefully hidden savings — currency notes in denominations of ₹10, ₹20, ₹50, and ₹100, along with coins.

Though Rangamma, known for her reclusive nature, did not reveal her intentions for the money, the villagers unanimously resolved to contribute the full amount towards the ongoing temple construction in the village.
