Bangladesh’s Hasina sentenced to death for crimes against humanity
Ousted Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina has been convicted by Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal of crimes against humanity during deadly crackdown on student-led protests in 2024.
A UN report estimated that up to 1,400 people were killed and thousands wounded during anti-government demonstrations between July 15 and August 5 last year. Hasina has been living in exile in India.
