Big damage to Rasuwa due to flood from China, 18 missing, Mitiri bridge washed away.

Rasuwa, July 8 — Severe flooding from China caused major damage as water levels rise in Bhotekoshi river located in Rasuwagadhi Naka. It has been confirmed that the main dated bridge connecting Nepal-China is completely swept away by the flood.

18 people have been missing so far in the said incident, including 9 Nepali citizens, 6 Chinese citizens and 3 Nepali police. According to the District Administration Office, Rasuwa, rescue and search is continuing rapidly.

The administration has urged locals to take special caution saying that there is still high risk in the area around the Bhotekoshi River. Local Administration, Nepali Army, Armed Police, Nepal Police and other bodies are deployed in the rescue.
