Two Workers Rescued Alive From Trishuli-3A Tunnel After 10 Days
Rasuwa, Sep 4: In a major breakthrough in Nepal’s ongoing rescue operation, two workers trapped inside the tunnel of the Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project in Rasuwa have been rescued alive, more than a week after devastating floods struck the region.
The rescued workers have been identified as Sanjay Sah and Kabir Maharjan. A joint rescue team involving the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and technical personnel successfully brought the two men out of the tunnel on Friday.
Rescue teams located the workers deep inside the tunnel after hearing voices during the search operation. Both men were provided immediate medical attention following their evacuation.
Significantly, Sah reportedly informed rescuers that other workers trapped inside the tunnel were safe and awaiting rescue, raising hopes that more survivors could be brought out alive.
Search and rescue operations are continuing inside the Trishuli-3A facility as teams work through difficult conditions caused by mud, debris and flood damage.
The rescue of the two workers after being trapped underground for more than a week has provided a major boost to ongoing rescue efforts following the catastrophic August 26 disaster.
