Chennai-Bound Flight Cancelled, Passengers Create Uproar at Bagdogra Airport
Passengers at Bagdogra Airport expressed strong anger after an IndiGo flight bound for Bengaluru was cancelled for the second consecutive day, causing severe inconvenience. The flight scheduled to depart at 12:30 PM on Wednesday was abruptly cancelled after the boarding process had already been completed.
Following the cancellation, the airline issued fresh tickets for Thursday. However, when passengers arrived at the airport again on Thursday morning, they were once more informed that the flight had been cancelled. The airline is now offering a new travel date of December 6 or the option of a refund. Passengers have alleged that heavy cancellation charges are being deducted in the name of refunds.
Several passengers stated that some were travelling to Bengaluru for urgent medical treatment, while others had important job interviews to attend. Repeated flight cancellations have caused them serious hardship and financial loss.
Passengers also alleged that airport authorities failed to provide any clear explanation for the repeated cancellations. No official statement has yet been issued by the airport administration regarding the matter.
