Continuous Rain Triggers Landslide, Blocks Rimbi–Yuksom–Tashiding Road in West Sikkim

West Sikkim, October 30 : Continuous rainfall has triggered landslides along the Rimbi–Yuksom–Tashiding road in West Sikkim, bringing vehicular movement to a complete halt on Friday.

Heavy rain in the Rimbi area caused boulders, mud and debris to fall onto the road, blocking the route and disrupting travel for residents, commuters and tourists. Travellers have been advised to avoid the affected stretch until debris clearance is completed and the road is declared safe for traffic.

Official updates on road restoration and alternative routes are awaited.
