Fresh mudslide strikes Rimbi; Two Houses at Risk.
A massive mudslide, carrying large boulders and debris, struck Rimbi Village in West Sikkim again on Saturday evening (September 12, 2026) following heavy rainfall in the state.
The slide has completely blocked the road connecting Rimbi and Khechuperi under the Yuksom-Tashiding constituency, bringing traffic movement on the route to a halt.
Two houses located near the affected area are reportedly at risk from the continuing slope instability.
The fresh slide has triggered concern among residents, with heavy rainfall continuing to pose a threat of further landslides in the area.
