Delhi Airport Advisory: Passengers Warned of Possible Delays Amid India-Pakistan Tensions
New Delhi, May – In light of rising tensions along the India-Pakistan border, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has issued a public advisory warning air travelers of potential delays, even though overall operations remain unaffected. The announcement comes as a precautionary response to enhanced security measures and evolving airspace directives issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
While over 30 northern airports near the border have suspended flight operations, Delhi Airport continues to function normally, albeit with reports of minor delays. The airport has urged passengers to account for extended processing times due to the implementation of heightened security protocols.
In the advisory, passengers are encouraged to remain updated via official airline communication channels and the Delhi Airport website to avoid last-minute inconveniences. Travelers are also advised to strictly adhere to baggage regulations and cooperate with security personnel to ensure smoother processing.
To minimize disruptions, authorities recommend that passengers reach the airport well ahead of their departure time and verify their flight status regularly. The advisory emphasizes the importance of real-time coordination with airlines and airport staff, highlighting that proactive compliance will ease potential operational bottlenecks.
