Fake Aadhaar Centre Busted in Matigara; 3 Arrested Including 2 Bangladeshi Nationals, 28 Fake Aadhaar Cards Seized

Siliguri, October 6: A suspected fake Aadhaar card-making centre allegedly operating from a residential house in the Shishabari area of Matigara has been busted in a joint operation by Army Intelligence and Matigara Police.

Three people were reportedly arrested during the operation, including two Bangladeshi nationals identified as Sushil Roy (45) and Litu Mahanto (45), both residents of Nilphamari district under Bangladesh’s Rangpur Division. The third arrested person has been identified as Pabitra Rani Roy, reportedly the wife of the alleged operator.

The alleged mastermind, Ripon Roy, reportedly fled from the premises during the raid, and police have launched a search for him.

Investigators reportedly seized 28 suspected fake Aadhaar cards along with birth certificates, caste certificates, Aadhaar application forms and other documents from the premises.
