Historic Turning Point: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Reported Dead After US-Israel Airstrikes

TVS Report, 1 March : Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has died following intense airstrikes by the United States and Israel, according to Iranian state media and U.S. officials. The 86-year-old cleric had ruled Iran since 1989. He was reportedly killed when his Tehran compound was hit in coordinated attacks targeting Iranian leaders and military sites. Iran has announced a 40-day period of national mourning along with significant public holidays in response.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed Khamenei’s death in a social media post, calling it “the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country.” He also stated that military operations could continue until goals are met. Iran’s state television confirmed the leader’s death and reported that about 40 other senior Iranian officials were killed in the strikes, with hundreds of civilians injured or dead.

The strikes, described as the largest U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran in decades, have sharply escalated tensions across the Middle East. In retaliation, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets and U.S. military bases throughout the region. The developing situation has raised global concern about a wider regional conflict and significant political upheaval inside Iran.
