Property Dispute Suspected Behind Murder of DU Professor; Bengal Couple Travelled 1,400 Km to Delhi
New Delhi, May 7 : A shocking murder case involving a Delhi University professor has taken a dramatic turn, with investigators suspecting a long-running property dispute as the motive behind the crime.
Police have arrested a married couple from West Bengal in connection with the killing of Dr. Debosmita Paul, an assistant professor based in Delhi. According to the investigation, the accused allegedly travelled nearly 1,400 kilometres from Bardhaman to the national capital before carrying out the crime.
Investigators believe the dispute was linked to property owned by the victim's grandfather. Authorities suspect that the accused had been eyeing the asset, leading to tensions that eventually culminated in the murder.
The incident took place in New Ashok Nagar, where Dr. Paul was found dead. Police are continuing their probe and are gathering additional evidence to establish the complete sequence of events.
The case has sent shockwaves through academic circles and raised concerns over how family and property disputes can spiral into violent crimes.
