RIP : Soldier From Punjab Dies In Accident In TR Junction Kupup, Sikkim

Lance Naik Rinku Singh, a 29-year-old soldier from Namol village in Punjab's Sangrur district, died in an accident while on duty in Sikkim. He had been serving with the 55 Engineer Regiment since 2016.

The accident occurred at the TR Junction in Kupup when a concrete machine he was operating went out of control during the construction of a road for the army. His family was informed that the machine's steering suddenly locked, leading to the tragedy.

Rinku Singh is survived by his parents and an elder brother. The village panchayat has arranged for his last rites to be held at the local sports stadium. According to a local ex-serviceman, Mal Singh, Namol village has a strong tradition of military service, with around 80 retired soldiers.
