Sikkim Governor Cuts Official Convoy Size by 50% to Promote Energy Conservation

Gangtok, May 14 : Governor Om Prakash Mathur has announced a major step towards energy conservation by reducing the number of vehicles in his official convoy by 50 percent.

According to a press release issued from Raj Bhavan, the decision was taken following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal to citizens across the country to support resource and fuel conservation efforts.

The Governor stated that the reduction in convoy vehicles is aimed at promoting responsible use of resources and setting an example in support of energy-saving initiatives.

He also appealed to the people of Sikkim to contribute towards conservation efforts in their daily lives by ensuring the proper and mindful use of available resources.
