In a significant breakthrough, the Soreng Police station under Soreng District has successfully intercepted one taxi Bolero SK02J/1340 Siliguri to Soreng daily taxi service and apprehended one person namely Binod Chettri resident of Dodak, Soreng who is suspected to be in possession of contraband substances .
The arrest took place at Chakung Gate above District & Sessions Judge Court ,Soreng on July 06, 2025 at around 1830 hrs.
During search by Police Officers in the presence of BDO, Soreng one dark brown cloth pouch containing 127 numbers and a file of blue colour loose Proximec Spas have been recovered and seized from his possession.
A case under the relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered for active investigation .
The accused Binod Chettri, an OFOJ employee working as LDC at BAC, Soreng by profession, who had been under the radar and surveillance of Soreng District Police since long have been arrested and the contraband substances has been seized.
