Transparency First: Nepal PM Balen Shah Reveals Assets, Income Sources

Nepal’s Prime Minister Balen Shah has publicly disclosed his assets, offering a rare glimpse into his financial profile in line with transparency laws.

According to the declaration, he holds approximately NRS 1.46 crore in his bank account. A significant portion of his earnings comes from social media, where he commands a massive following and generates steady income through digital content.

The disclosure also outlines family-owned properties. Land assets are registered in his mother’s name across Kathmandu and other locations, along with property inherited from his late father.

His wife, Sabina Kafle, has declared ownership of 190 tolas of gold and silver, categorized as family jewellery.

The asset declaration comes as part of mandatory legal provisions requiring public officials to maintain transparency and accountability in public life.
