Twisha Sharma Case: Former Judge Giribala Singh Appears in Same Court, This Time as an Accused
New Delhi, May 29 : A dramatic turn unfolded in the Twisha Sharma death case as retired district judge Giribala Singh appeared before the Bhopal court where she once served as a judicial officer. This time, though, she stood before the bench as an accused in a high-profile investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Singh, who is the mother-in-law of late actor and model Twisha Sharma, was brought before a special CBI court alongside her son Samarth Singh after investigators took them into custody for further questioning. This development follows the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision to cancel her anticipatory bail, pointing to serious allegations and evidence gathered during the investigation.
The case has drawn nationwide attention since Sharma’s death at her matrimonial home on May 12. Her family has accused her in-laws of dowry harassment, mental cruelty, and foul play. Both the CBI and the courts are looking into these claims.
Investigators are focusing on digital evidence, witness statements, WhatsApp messages, and other forensic findings as they try to piece together the events leading to Sharma’s death. The CBI plans to use the custodial interrogation to confirm claims, examine alleged inconsistencies, and determine the roles of those involved in the investigation.
The unusual sight of a former judge returning to the same court as an accused adds a striking chapter to a case that continues to raise questions about accountability, influence, and justice.
