Umbrellas Up! Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms to Lash Multiple States Today
New Delhi, September 18 : Get your umbrellas and raincoats ready! If you are stepping out today, you might want to keep an eye on the skies. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has just released a major weather update, predicting significant rainfall and stormy conditions across multiple states.
According to the latest IMD forecast, six major regions are set to experience heavy downpours today. Residents in Bihar, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala, and Rajasthan should prepare for intense rainfall and potential waterlogging in low-lying areas.
The turbulent weather does not stop at just rain. The Met Department has also warned of active thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and gusty winds sweeping through several other states. If you live in Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Karnataka, or Lakshadweep, expect a dramatic turn in the weather today.
The wet and windy conditions are expected to linger. Over the next two days, similar unsettled weather patterns will dominate parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Northeast India, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Meanwhile, Delhiites get a slight breather. The national capital will dodge the heavy rains today, with the weather agency forecasting a generally pleasant, partly cloudy sky. Stay safe, check local advisories before commuting, and do not let the sudden stormy weather catch you off guard!
