Centre Approves ₹1,912.99 Crore Relief Package for Six States and J&K After 2025 Natural Disasters
New Delhi, Marchb13 : A High-Level Committee headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved an additional ₹1,912.99 crore in central assistance to help several states and a Union Territory recover from the devastation caused by natural disasters in 2025.
The financial assistance will be provided to the states of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Nagaland, along with the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, these regions faced severe damage last year due to floods, flash floods, cloudbursts, landslides, and the impact of cyclonic storm ‘Montha’. The newly sanctioned funds aim to support relief, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas.
The decision was taken after assessing the scale of destruction and the requirements submitted by the respective state governments and the Union Territory administration. The Centre said the assistance would help restore infrastructure, provide support to affected communities, and strengthen disaster recovery measures.
The Union government has reiterated its commitment to stand with states and Union Territories during natural calamities and ensure timely financial support for relief and reconstruction activities.
