Gold and Silver Prices Surge Ahead of Dhanteras in India

Gold prices witnessed a sharp rise in India on Thursday, a day ahead of Dhanteras, bringing further cheer to the bullion market. According to the All India Sarafa Association, gold prices in Delhi increased by ₹2,200 to reach ₹1,48,800 per 10 grams.

Silver prices also recorded an upward trend, rising by ₹1,500 to ₹1,94,500 per kilogram.

Market traders attributed the surge to increased demand from jewellers, retailers and stockists ahead of the festive occasion. With Dhanteras approaching, buying activity has picked up in anticipation of strong festive sales.

Gold is currently around 13% more expensive than it was during Dhanteras last year, highlighting the significant rise in precious metal prices over the past year.
