A joint operation by the Bagdogra Police and RPF has led to the arrest of a youth allegedly involved in liquor smuggling.

The arrested youth has been identified as Ajit Kumar.

According to information, Ajit Kumar had allegedly purchased a large quantity of liquor from the Panitanki area and packed it into two bags, intending to transport it to Purnia in Bihar. He was reportedly on his way to Bagdogra Railway Station to board a train to Purnia.

However, the joint team of Bagdogra Police and RPF intercepted and arrested him.

During a search, a large number of liquor pouches and bottles were recovered from his bags. The police have seized the recovered liquor.

Further investigation is underway, and the accused is being questioned in connection with the case. He is scheduled to be produced before the court on Saturday.
